Bio
Hi there! My name is John Nichols. I’m currently the COO of NFT Plazas, a world-leading media outlet reporting on NFTs, web3 and the metaverse. Previously, I worked at pink.gg as their Head of Content following the acquisition of NFT Insider – a media outlet I founded that reported on NFTs, web3 and blockchain gaming – in September 2021.
My goal is to make the lives of others better through everything that I do. I best achieve this through stimulating and meaningful activity, both inside and outside of work, from leading strong and cohesive teams to creating educational, entertaining and engaging content.
My biggest professional milestones thus far are as follows:
- Worked with commercial clients including Beast Kingdom, Tsuburaya Productions and Warsaken, helping to general over $200,000 in revenue (as of July 2023).
- Negotiated the sale of NFT Insider to pink.gg in September 2021.
- Founded NFT Insider in May 2021, growing it to 65,000+ views pcm, 50,000+ Twitter followers, and a Discord community of 5,000+ members (as of July 2023).
- Generated in excess of £175,000 in print advertising sales, with clients including Rolex, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW (as of August 2021).
- Worked with Back2Warcraft on their broadcast graphics across 2017, contributing to a peak of 50,000+ view hours per week, with my work viewed over 5 million times.
Outside of work, I’m a huge motorsports fan, sim racing enthusiast, content creator, watch enthusiast, and music devotee. I’m not unknown to pick up a guitar or indulge in karaoke every now and again!
Here’s a few facts about me:
- During my time at university, I was part of a team that generated in excess of £40,000 in revenue through two years of organising our Faculty Leavers’ Ball.
- In July 2014, I started a skateboard manufacturing and lifestyle brand called Spirit Longboarding, which ceased trading in November 2015.
- I have been playing guitar since 2013, and wrote a few acoustic songs in my early teens.
- I’ve sung on national radio, BBC Radio 3, as a member of Spalding Parish Church Choir in 2009.
- I was once described by a client as an eierlegende Wollmilchsau, which translates to “a pig that lays eggs, bears wool and provides milk too”. Make of that what you will!
